We believe that for this site to be successful the writing presented here should be consistently good. We pick writers based on the quality of their work. The content they produce should be interesting and engaging. It's fine if their grammar is a little rough around the edges as long as their voice is original.

Writers must be willing to write and send at least two letters per week. Postage, envelopes and pens will be supplied free of charge for writers without web access. If you think this sounds like someone you know complete the two steps below:

1. Submit a sample of their writing
This doesn't need to be an essay. Even 1/2 a page of writing will suffice if the work shows talent. Send samples to submissions@developingwords.org

2. Submit proof of authenticity
We need to know that our writers are who they claim to be. To verify this we ask that you provide some

form of evidence that shows they are indeed from a developing nation. Most likely this will come in the form of a third party who works for an organization involved in helping people abroad. It could be as simple as a brief note from an aid worker on official United Nations stationary. Or it could be an email from a person with an official email address like janedoe@feedthechildren.org. We just need someone official to vouch for the writer's geographic and economic status. This step is not mandatory but it will greatly increase the chances of getting their blog hosted.
